Having the same problem that is listed on numerous one-star reviews. Phone states "out of range. . . " and base "In Use" and "Answer On" are blinking in sync. I have tried to reset the phone a few times and this is not correcting the issue. I have not had this phone very long. I definitely will not be purchasing another AT&T product.

I am hard of hearing and looked for a cordless phone that had a clearer sound than our old GE cordless. We bought AT&T Dect 6.0 because of two features: The audio assist button that you press when you get that panicky feeling that you can't hear well enough. It really works! It is instantly better - louder and clearer. It sure beats hitting a volume increase button as rapidly as you can only to find it is louder but not clearer. There is an incremental volume increase button you could press, too, although I never have to. The other feature is the SLOW button on the answering machine. When people have talked too fast leaving a message (as people often do), you can slooooow them down. Wow, does that help!
The downside of the phone is it doesn't have a lot of fun features like its competitors. I would have liked Call Block and a different ring sound for different callers - like maybe "Jaws" for telemarketers.

I am happy with this phone. It works great and has great volumn on speaker phone. I reserched several phones and I'm glad I got this one at amazon.
